Just east of the Andes, in the central Amazon region of Peru, lies Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera Pangoa. It was founded in 1977 by 50 members, it is now made up of approximately 700 farmers. Read on to find out more about this cooperative and check out photos from last years' visit. We hope you enjoy this coffee which is full-bodied with notes of toasted nuts and baker's chocolate.
As you may have heard, Thread Coffee received a Best of Baltimore award of Best Local Roast for our Fondo Paez coffee. This month we'll have a few different coffee options in the Red Emma's cafe, as usual. We'll have either the Berkman's Blend or Red Emma's Roast, we'll have the AsoApia microlot from Colombia, a Decaf from Peru (our best yet!), and we'll have Permata Gayo, which we'll be featuring. This particular coffee is what we typically use for Cold Brew, and so what better way to kick off the warm weather than to make this coffee available to you all month, and tell you a little bit about where it comes from!
